Cultured Borsberg

For this hike you take the tram line 2 to the last station, “Kleinzschachwitz”, followed by a short farry ride across the river Elbe. You start close to the Castle Pillnitz, which was build in an asian stile for countess Constantia of Cosel. Following the “Leitenweg” along side some vine gardens, you snake your way upwards the elb valley. After a steep climb towards the Borsberg you pass some open fields into the next part of the woods. You’ll enter the “valley of a 1000 bridges” (which is a bit exaggerated) which leads you back towards the Castle. Thats by far the best part of this route. The small stream and tiny bridges are kinda magical.

Also entrance for the Castle is only 5€ and in the spring, the gardens are stunning.
